Commercial work
The same documentary instinct I bring to weddings — real people, real voices, real stories — I bring to every commercial project. Whether you're a construction firm documenting a landmark build, an arts organisation reaching new audiences, or an NGO telling a story that needs to be heard across the world, the approach is the same.
I've filmed across Northern Ireland, Ireland, the UK and internationally — including projects for arts councils in low and middle income countries. I'm open to projects wherever the story takes me.
"Every organisation has a story worth telling."
Discuss a project
Not content. Not reels. Films. The kind you'll still be watching in twenty years — because they're built around the voices of the people you love, not a trending track.
I've been doing this for over a decade. I came from television journalism, so storytelling under pressure with real people is in my bones. When I'm at your wedding, you won't feel like you're being filmed. You'll just feel like you're getting married.
What drives me is simple. I want to make a film so complete — so full of the real voices, the real moments, the stories only the people in that room truly know — that a stranger could watch it decades from now and understand exactly who you were on that day. Not just what happened. Who you are.
If that sounds like what you're looking for — drop me a message. I'd love to hear about your day.
CharlieApproach
Photos are incredible. But they're silent. They don't have your mum's voice when she sees you at the top of the aisle. They don't have the joke in the best man's speech. They don't have the moment you looked at each other and everything else stopped.
That's what I capture. And that's why, years from now, the film is what you'll keep coming back to.
I don't believe in rigid packages where you pay more just to unlock things that should be standard. I show up the same way every single time. The same care, the same equipment, the same attention to the moments that matter. The only difference between my films is how much of your story ends up in the final cut.

Couples
Charlie has a gift for capturing the moments you didn't even know were happening. We watched our film and cried the whole way through — in the best possible way.
From the first call to delivery, Charlie was professional, warm and incredibly talented. Our film is something we will treasure for the rest of our lives.
Everyone at our wedding asked who the videographer was. The quality is just on another level — cinematic, emotional, and completely us. Couldn't recommend Charlie more.
About
Simba Star was my football team. When I started this business, keeping the name felt right — a small piece of where I came from, carried into everything I do.
I didn't start in weddings. I started in television — working as a video journalist for GMTV and RTE, learning how to tell real stories under pressure, with real people. That background shapes how I film a wedding. I'm not there to direct you. I'm there to observe, to listen, and to capture what's actually happening.
I went freelance over a decade ago. What I found in weddings was something I hadn't expected — stories that are extraordinary, every single time. Two families becoming one. A parent seeing their child as an adult for the first time. The private look between two people who have just said their vows. You can't script that. You can only be ready for it.
I also use unscripted interviews as part of my process — quiet conversations with the people who love you most, woven together with the speeches and the moments of the day. The result is a film that actually tells your story. Not just what happened. Why it mattered.
